The process of beginning is usually the worst part of any endeavor. This can be true of little things like starting an exercise routine, beginning a career in a new field, or buying a house.
The fact is none of those are little things and can have huge impacts on your life and livelihood. I will be looking at the real estate market in the Central Florida area and highlighting the many attractions and experiences that are part of living in this area. I will also look at the negatives that come with such an attractive real estate market.
My wife and I moved here from Maryland in the fall of 2022, after spending almost 5 years living near Washington DC. The ability to wear flip flops in the winter has probably been the best part, that and being less than a half hour drive from Disney World and Universal (assuming I-4 isn’t too crazy).
If or when you visit the area that is one of the first complaints you will hear, unless it’s summer then it will be the heat, the traffic on I-4. The reality is that as with any bigger metropolitan area there is going to be traffic and Florida is hot in the summer. Good thing is knowing this going in makes it not as big an issue. The benefits to living in this area far outweigh any downside in my opinion. So many things to do, from Disney World, Universal, and Seaworld, to the vibrant nightlife of International Drive. There are many state parks located nearby and being it’s Central Florida, it is centrally located between both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, with beautiful beaches to either side.
Next post I will be diving into the details of the local market and how I can assist you on your search.
